WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Is there an activity in your life that you love and find absorbing? Do you ever notice moments of contentment and wellbeing? These experiences give us an idea of the 'flavour' of mindfulness. It is the capacity to be calm, open and aware in the present moment.

Compassion and wisdom are two wings of mindfulness. They help us empathise and be kinder, to ourselves as well as others. We are able to find a broader perspective where decisions become clear and effective.

Mindfulness is non-judgemental and always curious about experience, fostering a conscious life. It is an evidence-based technique, shown to be effective in improving wellbeing. It reduces stress and depression and is now used in a range of settings including within the NHS.

I offer supervision for anyone teaching mindfulness-based approaches.

I am an experienced teacher and qualified supervisor. I have maintained a consistent practice of mindfulness and meditation since the 1980s. I enjoy encouraging and supporting others wishing to develop their teaching skills.
